THE POST

I love reminders.  It is so easy for me to forget things (even important things) in my much- too- overcrowded mind.

Reminder – a person or thing that causes one to remember.

Recently I’ve been enjoying reminders of just exactly who I am – IN CHRIST.

From sermons to devotions to Pinterest boards those reminders just keep popping up.

In case you suffer from the much- too- overcrowded mind also, I thought I would share some of my reminders with you.

Spend some time this week with these beautiful reminders.

One More Thought

As alluded to before, a plethora of information concerning our identity abounds, and all of it can easily be found in the form of books, podcasts, blog posts, sermons, and graphics.

Just a few keystrokes, and we can find that we are prized by God and wonderfully made. Articles of all types assure us that we are a masterpiece, and that God sings over us. As well, beautifully designed graphics declare that we are daughters of the King.

Information concerning who we are is not lacking, that is for sure, and, thankfully, most of this information comes straight from the Bible. Each message a precious truth.

However, with our gaze on ourselves, truth or not, these words have little effect.

No, life transforming effect can only come from a proper perspective!

In our search for identity (and the hoped-for transformation it will bring), we must get to the place where we take our eyes off ourselves and turn them to God.

Apart from God, these priceless truths cannot be properly perceived. There can be no true self-awareness, and therefore, little – if any – change.

Rather than looking for “who I am” because of me or for me, we need to be searching for “who I am” IN CHRIST.

Only with our gaze turned Godward, with a right and reverent awe of who He is, can we come to truly understand our identity.

May our gaze be ever on Him, and may He alone be glorified. Amen.
