MAKING JESUS OUR ONE THING

Our identity, worth, meaning, and joy are in Christ alone.
The time we spend with Him enriches and deepens our relationship with Him and helps us come to know Him more intimately.  Additionally, time with Jesus helps us place our focus squarely on Him.
The practice of WORSHIP is one way to live this life of focus, this life of SIMPLICITY.

WORSHIP

–the spiritual practice of praising God’s greatness, goodness, and beauty in words, music, ritual, and/or silence.

Worship to our Heavenly Father can be offered anytime, anywhere, and in a multitude of ways.  Yes, it is singing.  Worship can be many believers gathered in a church lifting their voices together before a sermon or an individual belting out a song of praise.  But it is not singing alone. Worship is so much more – it is an opportunity for us to adore and to honor God!
Worship can be the extending of grace to a child, deferring to your spouse in a disputed matter, enjoying a sunset, or washing the dishes.

Washing dishes, walking a beach
Opening your home; offering a meal
Raising your hands to heaven, reading to a child
Singing a song of praise, sharing words of encouragement
Helping someone in need, holding a newborn baby
Inconvenience and interruption to what we planned – for His glory
Praying with a friend, praising His name

Worship should become the constant undertone of our lives.
What are your thoughts most focused upon?  Can you say you are ravished with delight when you think on God?  When you think on God does it cause you to praise His greatness, goodness, and beauty?
Worship is both the language and the key.  It is the language of victorious spiritual experience.  It is the key to unlocking the door to great treasures of grace.  Worship is central to the life of God in the soul.  Worship will turn you toward making Christ your One thing.

It’s your turn. How do you express WORSHIP?
